Devlog - October 24, 2024 - Slow but Steady Progress
Hey everyone! It's been a bit since the last update, and while progress has been a little slower, things are still moving forward. Here’s what I’ve been up to:
Progress and Updates
New Areas: I’ve managed to add a few new areas since the last update, and there are more in development. Slowly but surely, the environment is expanding as I continue to work on piecing together the game world.
Horror Template Work: I’ve been doing some work on the horror template again. It’s not my own, but I’ve been making contributions to help improve it. I recently showcased some of these updates on my YouTube channel. If you're curious, you can check it out here. These tweaks should make it easier for others working on similar projects.
RE2 Bookshelf Puzzle: I’m excited to announce that the Resident Evil 2 bookshelf puzzle is now fully functional! It adds a fun and nostalgic element to the game, and I’m pleased with how it’s turned out.
Status Effect System: The status effect system is officially complete. It introduces various statuses that can impact the player, adding more strategic depth to gameplay.
Outfit Swapping Mechanic: I’ve also implemented a basic outfit-swapping mechanic. This will allow players to change outfits for characters, adding more customization options as the game develops.
Arcade and Hospital Areas: The cameras and doors in the arcade and hospital areas are fully set up. I’ve ripped and animated all the doors, and these areas are coming together nicely.
Mr. X in Unity: Mr. X is now working in Unity! After a bit of remodeling on his long overcoat, he’s looking great in-game and adds a lot of tension to the atmosphere.
Next Steps:
- Continue expanding and polishing the new areas.
- Keep contributing to improvements on the horror template.
- Gather feedback from developers and players to refine and optimize the game.
As always, I’m open to feedback and suggestions! Feel free to share your thoughts on Itch.io or reach out to me on Discord at MPH64. Your input is incredibly valuable to the process!
Thanks for your continued support, and stay tuned for more updates!
